Brutalism

The Beamish Brothers

A collection of deeply personal songs we wrote over the course of our career. Kills Me Every Time was the first chapter - we wrote the guitar hook and chorus melody in Spain in 2017 before finally finishing it off in late 2018. We knew this one had to be the first single. Next came Crying With No Tears and then Weeds written collaboratively. Finally we wrote Nostalgia which became a defining sound for us and organically became our most streamed song to date.

Brutalism is an architectural style of monolithic utilitarian concrete masses. It's some times uncomfortable or imposing to the eye but it's true to itself and its form. It doesn't hide anything. That's what we felt our music was doing in this EP.

Nature

The Beamish Brothers

This song was born in a writing session with the talented Tayla Mae. We initially just wanted to create something that was empowering and about reclaiming control. Later on in the process during production, we both found that the lyrics were resonating as a 'voice-from-mother-earth' anthem and so we knew we had to release it. Attached as bonus files are photos from the music video which was teased on national TV for Eurovision.

PRESS

The Beamish Brothers recent release ‘Kills Me Every Time’ is a silky fusion of guitar, alt-pop sounds and smooth vocals. The brothers have taken a minimalist approach to their latest song; stripping back to hero the guitar and the boys’ honeyed vocals, incorporating an electro-pop sound only when necessary. ‘Kills Me Every Time’ shows a shift in the duo’s musical stylings as they hone in on a maturing signature sound, a fitting follow-up after changing their name from The Beamish Boys to Brothers.”

— India Marx

We can expect big things in the future from the up and coming duo, as The Beamish Brothers newfound identity will bring a year packed with purpose-filled songs and exciting new projects, all quickly approaching!”

— CULTR

The duo’s synergy is apparent through their attention to and delivery of flawless, celestial harmonies. The pair strike an endearing contrast, aligning elements of fragility with more raw, fiery vocals. Their smooth, minimalistic guitar sound serves as the perfect tool to illuminate their dominant construction of harmonies.”
